Abstract: The experiment was conducted at Livestock Farm Women Groups Ducks Lestari Sejahtera Ibu chairman Suhartatik in Modopuro subdistrict, Mojosari district of Mojokerto Regency, which was done on the moon April 10 to May 15, 2010. The aim of research to determine the effect of egg weight and egg shelf life of specific gravity, the death of embryos and hatchability on Mojosari. Expected benefits of research can be used as information in the hatchery and material considerations in determining egg weight and egg shelf life suitable to produce high eggshell quality, low embryo mortality and hatchability of eggs Mojosari duck. The materials used in the study were as many as 540 Mojosari duck eggs fertile. The method uses experimental methods that are designed with randomized block design (RBD) factorial, with two treatment factors. The first factor is of egg weight with the weight category of small, medium and large. The second factor is the shelf life of eggs shelf life of four days, six days and eight days. Two factors were combined, and obtained nine combined treatment with three repetitions of each treatment. The results showed a difference if the real effect or a very real then continued with Jujur.Variabel Significant Difference test were observed and specific gravity of eggs, embryo mortality and hatchability. The results showed that egg weight did not provide tangible difference in the effect (P> 0.05) on egg density, but gives a significant in the effect (P <0.05) of dead embryos and hatchability. While the shelf life of eggs gave a high significantly (P <0.01) against gravity and the effect was significantly (P <0.05) of dead embryos and hatchability of duck eggs Mojosari. The conclusion of this study was small egg weight has the highest density value and medium-sized egg weight (60.38 to 65.16 g) had the lowest mortality and good embryos to be incubated while eggs with shelf life of more than 4 days it will lower the value egg specific gravity, increased embryo mortality and lower egg hatchability. Mojosari hatcheries should be selected from egg weights between (60.38 to 65.16 g) and egg storage time not more than four days in order to obtain good quality eggs and embryos have a low mortality and high hatchability .
