Title: KLASIFIKASI KUALITAS AIR IRIGASI PERTANIAN DIDASARKAN NILAI NISBAH JERAPAN NATRIUM (SAR), DAYA HANTAR LISTRIK (DHL) DAN NATRIUM KARBONAT TERSISA (RSC) (STUDI DI JARINGAN IRIGASI MANGETAN)

Abstract: Water is one of the most important needs for human life, in which one of them is for the irrigation (watering) need. Along with the increasingly of population, the industrial development and the increase of the existing natural wealth uses so cause the increase of environmental pollution, especially water pollution. Size of water pollution occurred can be known by measure its quality. The purpose of this research was to know the characteristic changes occurred at the upper, middle and downstream of Mangetan Irrigation Network and to classify water quality at the Mangetan Irrigation Network based on the SAR, DHL and RSC values. Research study location was the Mangetan Irrigation Network, having length of ± 36.3 km and used to water the wet rice field of width ± 5000 ha (Mangetan Canal I – Mangetan Canal III). Water stream used for irrigation at the network was mixed with domestic waste, paper industrial waste and agricultural waste from the farming area (wet rice field) had influence to its irrigation water quality. Research on water quality has been made by water sample taking on 9 observation points with 3 times repetitions in each of those points, namely, observation point 1: Mangetan Canal Intake; observation point 2: Kemlaten Secondary Duct; observation point 3: Kemlaten 4B Tertiary Duct; observation point 4: Mangetan Canal 2 Primary; observation point 5: Ponokawan Secondary Duct; observation point 6: Ponokawan L Tertiary Duct; observation point 7: Mangetan Canal 3 Primary; observation point 8: Seruni Secondary Duct; observation point 9: Seruni 5 Tertiary Duct. Water quality testing have done at the water quality test laboratory of Bina Marga (Directorate General of Highway Construction and Maintenance) Public Works Service, Sidoarjo. Research method used was data collection involved primary data and secondary data that were analyzed by using descriptive method. Parameter observed in this research to know water quality were pH, DHL, SAR, RSC, Temperature, Turbidity, TDS, Color, BOD and COD. The results obtained from the above analyses were minimal pH on Seruni 5 Tertiary Duct : 7.64 and maximum pH on Intake Mangetan Kanal : 8.083, happened to descend pH from upper until downstream. The minimal value of color on Mangetan Canal Intake and Ponokawan Secondary Duct : 6.70 TCU, maximal value on Seruni 5 Tertiary Duct : 13.23 TCU happened to grow worse color from begining until downstream. The minima value of temperature on Kemlaten 4B Tertiary Duct : 28.57˚C and maximal temperature on Mangetan Canal 3 Primary : 31.17˚C. The minimal value of Turbidity on Mangetan Canal Intake : 13.23 NTU, maximal value on Seruni 5 Tertiary Duct : 370.67 NTU, happened to grow worse from beginning until downstream. The minimal value of DHL on Mangetan Canal Intake : 446.67 µs/cm, maximal value on Ponokawan Secondary Duct : 844 µs/cm. The minimal value of TDS on Seruni Secondary Duct : 265.67 mg/l, maximal value on Ponokawan Secondary Duct : 528.33 mg/l; The minimal value of COD on Mangetan Canal 3 Primary : 8 mg/l, maximal value on Seruni 5 Tertiary Duct : 29.33 mg/l; The minimal value of BOD on Mangetan Canal 3 Primary : 4 mg/l, maximal value on Seruni 5 Tertiary Duct : 12 mg/l; The minimal value of SAR on Mangetan Canal 2 Primary : 0.551 me/l, maximal value on Mangetan Canal Intake : 0.75 me/l; The minimal value of RSC on Kemlaten 4B : -8.35 me/l, maximal value on Ponokawan Secondary Duct : -15.26 me/l. The results of water quality analyses on 9 observation points at Mangetan irrigation network showed that on Mangetan Canal Intake (observation point 1) to Mangetan Canal 1 tertiary (observation point 3) and on Mangetan Canal 2 primary to Mangetan Canal 3 tertiary fell into the C2-S1 class, while on Mangetan Canal 2 primary duct to Mangetan Canal 2 tertiary fell into the C3-S1 class. The grade of Mangetan Canal irrigation water quality was normal of safe to use except its turbidity value exceeded the maximum limit allowed, for RSC and SAR it was low.
